HOW TO GET A RATING
If you have played in a USTA league or tournament anywhere
in the past 3 years (or 2 years if you are 60 years of age
or older), then you already have a rating. Go to Tennislink to look up your rating.
If you are new to the USTA, then you will need to SELF RATE.
The USTA no longer holds "rating sessions" to assign
ratings to players. Here are some suggestions to help you
self rate correctly:
- Attend one of our Welcome Parties
where you will play with other rated league players and
a rating will be suggested.
- Check out the USTA's video on About Self Rating found
on Tennislink (see right side
of page)
- If you take lessons, ask your coach what your rating
is. If you play regularly, seek out rated USTA players for
a match, and compare yourself.
- Read the NTRP Playing Levels descriptions
and select a rating that reflects your abilities.
- If you were a ranked Junior player or played in high school
or college, please refer to the General and Experienced Player
Guidelines for assistance with self-rating.
